Sehr geehrter Herr oder Frau,
Als Journalist suche ich einige Angaben über einen in Ihre schöne Stadt (ich habe die Stadt Rokycany in 2004 besucht und freue mich schon auf ein neues Besuch) lebenden Autor.
In die Niederlande sind zwei Bücher erschienen von einen Autor namens Miroslav Von Miraus, er soll angeblich 9 januar 1909 in Rokycany geboren sein, in die Burg von Rokycany. Den Namen könnte durchaus ein Pseudonim sein. Heute sollte er – 96 Jahre alt - in eine kleine Wohnung neben die Burg wohnen.
Da die Informationen über ihm sehr wenig sind habe ich einige Fragen:
Können Sie mir sagen ob es in Rokycany eine Burg gibt? (Heute müsste sie zerfallen sein. Angeblich sollten die Ksč die Burg ab 1948 benützt haben).
Können Sie mir Angaben machen über ob es wirklich so eine Person gegeben hatt und noch immer gibt?

We have received from Rokycany Information Centre your question on Miroslav von Miraus. We didn't find any information about the author as yet.
Miraus should be a pseudonym (/von mir aus/ in German) but also allusion on Mirosov (Miroschau, Miroschow in German), a small town near Rokycany.
There is no castle in Rokycany and was not as we know. But there is another little town Hradek (means little castle) between Rokycany and Mirosov (very close to Mirosov). It is possible that author alluded on these facts.
Miroslav is current Czech first name but probably etymologically related with Mirosov.
The author is mentioned in no bibliography. Could you write us more details about his books? If he is Czech his original works should be catalogued. It could help us: the translation of the title into English or German, the precise information about the author and if there is a mention about original title, the owner of copyright etc.
Finally, it is possible, that he is not Czech, but Dutch or German etc. and the whole affair is a mystification. Didn't you have any information from the Dutch editor of the books?

Thank you for your detailed answer.
In the meantime I did some more research and it there is some evidence that the book is a mystification. But I'm still working on it.
One thing is for sure: there is no Czech version of the book, I searched on the Czech title and found nothing.
